A: The best thing to do is to move anything breakable or that you feel is in the way of the area to be cleaned. If the objects are heavy, don't hesitate to ask and we will be happy to assist you with them. If you are having your roof cleaned, water all the plants thoroughly the night before, and move any plants in pots, away from the roof line.
A: Yes, provided it is handled properly and at proper dilution ratios. There are basically two type of roof cleaners; 1) bleach solution 2) "Eco-friendly" solutions. Each solution is designed to kill the growth on your roof, so therefore, expect that it can kill the surrounding vegetation if used improperly. Bleach is most widely used because it is economical, and has proven itself effective, over the years. When used at the proper dilution, with adequate watering, and with proper application, it will not harm your family, pets, or landscape. "Eco-friendly" products will generally be more expensive, in most cases require more time and labor, and sometimes prove to be ineffective for the task. However, both types of cleaners can be effective when applied by professionals with the proper equipment.
A: There really should not be that significant of a difference in price between companies. If all of the companies are insured, have the proper equipment for the job, and proper labor force for the task, then the prices should be comparable. If you receive an estimate that is significantly lower than the rest, make sure it includes everything you want, make sure they're insured (with proof), and make sure they have the proper equipment and experience to complete the job correctly.
